Tonsil crypt's + geographic tongue

by ivycreek907, May 26, 2008 09:09PM
I have tonsil crypt's pretty bad with constant tonsil stones/white stuff present.  They often get very red, swollen and slightly painful.  My question is does anyone know if tonsil stones have anything to do with geographic tongue?  I get that on a regular basis as well and it is pretty distinct with often sensitivity to spicy foods.  Also I occasionally get cold sores on the outside of my mouth.   Are any of these mouth issues related?

Hi I get tonsil stones too! its gross!
I also work in ENT,

no its not related to coldsores or geographic tongue,

I first got tonsil stones two years ago I could feel something on back of tongue when I stuck my tongue out I could see what looked like teeth! I was grossed out, wowed and also worried as naturally working in ENT I thought it looked like cancer,

I showed the doc at work! he said just the shape of my tonsils, I generally poke them out, use mouthwash gargle freguently, he said they will do tonsilectomy for this but im too scared.  although I do quite fancy two weeks of work, but not the extreme pain that will acompany it.

I'm just looking for non-surigical treatment. tonsilstones.net
I too find that sometimes I get lots of stones as a result of diet, scatchy scrapey foods do prevent and slow down tonsil **** bulid up! I also watch my tongue if looks to be getting white I know the filthy tonsil stones will follow!!!!!!!!!

sorry yes I definately think tonsil stones could make worst irritate your geographic tongue, (DEF have them out) because your tonsils are home to bacteria and old food that shouldnit be there.
