Tracheomalacia

My 6 month old daughter is in the process of being diagnosed with Tracheomalacia.  She's schedualled for a broncoscopy in a few weeks but right now she has a terrible cold.  She has a lot of phlem in her airways and having a hard time working it out.  She's using a nebulizer with albuteral (i'm not sure how thats spelled) three times a day and it only helps for about an hour.  We're getting tired of rushing her to the hospital every couple of nights.  Are there any other things we can do to help her?  Would drinking water help?  She's especially bad after she eats or when she's playing.

Hi, thanks for responding! My daughter is now 8 1/2 months old.  She had a bronchscopy done not long after I posted that.  She's been in and out of the hospital threw the flu season but things are improving.  Hers is pretty bad... she has tracheo/bronchiomalacia and acid reflux but we're working through it. Hopefully she'll outgrow this sooner rather than later.

hi my name is ashley my 6 month old son has been diagnosed with both treomalacia and bronchiomalacia there really is nothing you can do to make it better. He just had a bronchscopy done friday and it didnt turn out good. Basicaly his lungs are inflamed and its hrad for him to breath. Ask the doctor that you see to see if she asperating (i think thats how you spell it) But that is what it sounds like. And to be honest the albuteral will not help you might as well just stop it cause it will not do anything i learned that. Its one of those you got wait and see what happens. But one thing that does help i let my son sleep in his car seat because its elevated try that and see if it helps and try to let her sit up after she eats that also seems to help.
