Upper right chest pains

I am only 19, I am of normal size and weight for my height.  Lately while i am sleeping i wake up to pain in my upper right chest.  I do not have any idea where this is coming from.  It seems to be alleviated when i sleep on my back but that is not comfortable for me since i alwyays sleep on my stomach.  It seems to happen as i am breathing in and only when i am sleeping.  Any clues?

Pain of this nature can be from muscles, nerves or the lining of the lung.  It is not very likely to come from your lungs themselves.  You may have pinched a nerve in an activity or even in your sleep.  I would take mild pain medicine and if this does not take care of it or it gets worse, I would advise seeing your doctor.
