What do i have, What do i do?

This has been going on for three months now. Feeling that there is something stuck in the back of my throat or in my Bronchial tube I do not know. I have been clearing my throat all day for three months and some days coughing. The first week I went to a Dr complaining of chest congestion he gave me Cheratussin AC Syrup. As the bottle was nearing empty it seemed to have cleared up the congestion. I felt fine for a week, it's been back ever since. A couple of times it seemed like it was gone and it comes right back. I am not coughing up any colored mucus, or wheezing. This is not painful but physiologically debilitating. What do I have what do I do?
