What is interstitial pneumonititis

I was resently diagnoised and would like to find out more information regarding interstitial pneumonititis. My Pulmonoligist believes it was caused by a toxic reaction to my arthritis medication "methotrexate". How can I get more information what this is?

Please read our Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) MedFact at http://www.nationaljewish.org/medfacts/interstitial.html for more information about interstitial pneumonitis.  In this MedFact under the heading of “What are the causes of ILD” both rheumatoid arthritis and chemotherapy medication are listed.  Methotrexate is a chemotherapy medication.  You are welcome to share this information with your doctor.

cinnie, I was diagnosed with non specific interstitial pnuemonitus ayear ago. Mine was supposedly caused by parrots.I use google.com for research. It came up with a lot of sights.Of course it also helps to have a doctor in the family and a son that spends numerous hours on the internet.Have they started you on prednisone yet? Hope all goes well for you
