I have been suffering from all kinds of symptoms for the past few years. It all started about 3 and a half years ago when I got a horrific kidney infection. The doctor put me on Cipro (which I was badly allergic to). I then recieved another antibiotic and recovered quite promptly thereafter. About a week later, I started having terrible burning when I had to pee. I was diagnosed with Interstitional cystitus....I also have ongoing bacterial vaginosis, which I've been getting for the last 3 years. Doctors kept prescribing me antibiotics for this as well. I finally have this part mostly handled from constant research on the web. I take 50 billion lactobillius cell pills when it starts to come back (sometimes inserting them vaginally). Then about 2 and a half years ago I was throwing up blood. It looked like coffee grinds and black blood mixed together. I had an endoscopy and was diagnosed with GERD and esophagitis. The gasterintologist said I had a really bad case of food poisoning.(This seemed strange but it did go away about a week later). Then about 2 years ago, I started having HORRIFICLY painful stomach cramps accompanied by very bloody bowels. This lasted about 3 months. I had a colonoscopy and the dr. really didnt have any answer for why this was happenning. No Chrohns, no IBD, but said maybe I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I still have bathroom problems, going about 3-5x a day. No blood anymore and nowhere near the amount of pain in the cramps that go along with this process. However I do sometimes get cramps with this. I also had tinea favosa as well as my fiance along with a couple of yeast infections. We took flucinazole or whatever it is called and it seemed to go away. Then about a year and a half ago, I got a bad cold that my son brought home from Ireland. I got the usual bronchitis that usually comes with or after a really bad cold for me. However, this cough has continued ever since. I started having terrible sore throat that never went away. My ears pop all the time and I get painful headaches along with it. My jaw hurt so bad that I could barely yawn or chew my food! I went to over 7 different doctors for this and they all have some wrong GUESS as to what is wrong. I had a chest Xray that showed nothing wrong. I FINALLY fixed the jaw problem though! I have a very bad back that has some degenerating discs and tends to want to go crooked. I actually moved back to Portland OR to see a certain chiropractor because I could barely walk and after seeing 11 different chiropractors that were worthless in fixing my problem, I went to one I knew was GREAT! He fixed my lower back, well I have to go see him every 4-6 months but that's nothing considering the healing he has done for me. So anyways this ties in here (SORRY I KNOW THIS IS VERY LONG! BUT WHO ELSE REALLY CARES ABOUT THIS CRAP UNTIL IT HAPPENS TO YOU!) So I ran by the jaw/breathing/ear popping/hacking up/sore throat issue by him and he said well if the 2nd vertabra is out as he felt he said OH MY GOSH NO WONDER YOU'RE FEELING THIS WAY! He adjusted me and INSTANTANEOUSLY MY JAW AND EAR AND SORE THROAT DISAPPEARED. It has come back 3 times since and the second he cracks that 2nd vertabra back in it is GONE! However, I am still dealing with this terrible hacking up phlegm ALLLLLL DAY! It is so bad that I wake up because I'm drowning in my own mucus! When I came across this form about constant throat clearing accompanied by a terrible persistent cough, I saw the stuff about post nasal drip. I had never really noticed that I do have a constant drip. I think this is because my coughing scares me so much and the drowning in my mucus feeling that I instantly blamed it on my smoking. I am 28 years old and have been a smoker for 10 years. I grew scared that it was from emphysema or something because I am a smoker. The docotor just put me on nasonex and I'm using the saline nasal wash before spraying the nasonex in my nose. It has gotten a little bit better but not much. When I exhale fast and deep, there usually is a terrible wheezing sound which turns into coughing up a lot of phlegm, especially when I keep doing it (which sometimes I do on purpose because even though it causes terrible spitting out mucus for the next hour or so, it's relatively better for a few hours afterward. I'm tired all the time. I do get more tired quicker than I used to when I workout, BUT it actually seems like it makes me cough out some of this gunk and relieves it slightly. What is going on here???? I think forums like this are great! They are FREE, UNLIKE THE ENORMOUS DOCTOR BILLS! And I think we can really help each other figure out what is going on here!!!!!!!! I feel like I can't go anywhere anymore because I have turned into a human hack up/spit machine! It is incredibly frustrating and embarassing. People really don't understand, they just get annoyed. All the while this stuff is ruining my life, and I know I'm not the only one HELP anyone please! AND FOR THOSE OF U WITH THE JAW PROBLEM, YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT A GOOD CHIROPRACTOR THAT DOES AXIS WORK, MINE HELPED ME ENORMOUSLY WITH THAT PROBLEM! Funny how doctors always frown upon them, but they kept telling me that I had TMJ. I knew that was wrong and it was! My ears don't pop like that anymore, and I don't feel like I have strep throat anymore. That problem is fixed, but I'm trying to fix the phlegm/post nasal drip/constant throat clearing/drowning in mucus/persistant cough!
