annoying cough

by larsnyc, Nov 22, 2004 12:00AM
I now have what i would call a dry hack that becomes aggravated when I exhale or inhale deeply.  This has been going on for about two weeks.  Prior to this, I did have a chest cold where I was producing dark green phlem in the morning when taking a hot shower. This condition lasted for about one week.

Is it worth seeing my PCP? or should Ijust wait it out?

It is common for a cough to linger after a chest cold.  If your cough is dry and you feel well otherwise, I would recommend waiting it out for a couple more weeks.  If your condition has worsened at any time or is not showing signs of improving, you should see your primary care provider (PCP).
