I live in BC Canada and am also on my third round of antibiotics. I don't know why Doctors don't do an xray, sputum , urine and blood right away instead of the constant "Oh its probably a virus". I have been sick for over three weeks and went to the Doctor three times plus the emergency twice. Diagnosed first as virus than xray and diagnosed pneumonia, then pneumonia with a touch of pluracy then atypical pneumonia. This is my third day of clarythromicin and although I have a little more energy my chest still hurts and I am short of breath. I really hope these antibiotics work. I am not sure what the recovery time is as I can't seem to get an answer. I have had pnuemonia (pneumonia) before but nothing like this. Anyone else had pneumonia before this?
