bleeding with enphysemia

my dear fried has emphysemia and has been on oxygen for 6 months. She went into the hospital 1/12/09 evening after her nose began to bleed out of control and coughing up blood. They told her that they felt it was caused from the oxygen dryin her out. She was told of an attachment to put on her oxygen that would help to moisten her air. If this is infact a remedy for the bleeding how long will it take to began working? One concern we have is her bleeding through the night and chokin.
