breathing trouble.....what is it?

I have been having trouble breathing for about 3 months now. It comes and goes but it is normally there. I feel sometimes like I can't get a good breath and other times like it hurts to inhale. A doctor,without tests, said that it could be GERD. He put me on previcid 2 times daily and I have been on that for 3 months. Has not gotton any better. When I lay down, it sounds restricted like a weezing noise and gurgle. I have a lot of post nasal drip and all of this started after edoscopic sinus surgery. Could the doctor have damaged something or what. I also have a pain that comes from time to time just bellow my breast bone. Don't know if this matters to my brathing or not. I have went to the emergency room and my palse ox is always good....about 97-100. Any ideas?

Since your symptoms have continued, it is important for you to be evaluated to determine the cause.  Have you let your doctor know that the Prevacid is not working for you?  There are a number of conditions that can cause these symptoms.  A chest X-ray could be helpful in checking for an underlying respiratory condition.  You may want to consider seeing a lung specialist (pulmonologist) who can do a thorough evaluation of your respiratory system.  Because these symptoms have persisted for 3 months, I recommend that you be evaluated as soon as possible.

You can have a serious respitatory problem and still have a good pulse ox. Try going to another dr and tell the dr about the gurgling and wheezing
