I've had 3 sinus surgeries - 2 due to trauma.  Recently ENT did MRI of TMJ and CT of Sinus - both clear.  Blood work was done by primary physician - normal.  I've had endoscopic sinus and tmj surgery - sinuses are wide opened and breathing is good.  No infection.  My frontal feels like its stinging from a bee bite into forehead.  My temporal area is tension and my tmj is never ending pain.  The pain radiates from jaw into neck, shoulders and back sometimes into chest.   Currently, I'm taking nexium for acid reflux, endoscopy 2 months ago - showed a few ulcerations.  There was more prior to this.  Thankfully, its getting better.  I feel like there is something with the bone of ear because when pressed, it hurts and the joint gets inflammed but the worst is eye burning (using moisturizing eye drops as per Eye Dr.).  The forehead/frontal sinus stinging so bad it doesn't go away.  If ct shows normal of sinus what could it be.  The pressure sits behind the eyes as well as sides of nose.  Trouble swallowing, but nothing shows up whenever tests/procedures are done.

Aside from the temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) pain, this sounds like it may be a neurologic problem, with involvement of the nerves of your face.  However, you could be having referred pain from the TMJ and your first step should be to seek consultation for that.  If you are assured that the various facial pains are not related to the TMJ, you should then see a neurologist.

There are dentists who specialize in the treatment of TMJ disease.  You should locate and seek consultation with one of these specialists.  Your local dental school or dental society could recommend people who specialize in this work.

If its a facial nerve damaged, could it feel like your ear is burning without sign of infection and your neck burning directly under ear?  If ear is slightly touched, major popping and cracking.  It's really scary.  It feels like your on fire with the ear and neck.  The jaw is constantly throbbing.  I've seen so many doctors including neuro, I back to square one.  What would be your first recommendation if you've tried everything and seen all appropriate doctors?
