A bullous is an air-filled, thin walled sac that occurs within the substance of the lung.  When small, such structures are called cysts.  Bullae are not very dangerous, but they can cause problems if infected.  Also, if very large, they can compress lung and make it non-functional.  Bullae are not cancerous but rarely can be associated with cancers of the lung.

Bullae may be congenital or acquired usually after fungal infection, such as valley fever.  Unless the bullous is quite large or rapidly increasing in size, it is best to leave it alone.
