I am 53 yo male with LBBB, cardiomyopathy, hypertension and have a pacemaker/ defibrillatorImplantable cardioverter-defibrillator . I have been experiencing SOB for some time but thought it was related to heart. I had a checkup with my cardiologist and told him of a cough that I had for 3 weeks....he ordered a chest x-ray that came back with this impression: EXPIRATORY CHEST WITH LINEAR BIBASILAR ATELECTASIS. HEART IS UPPER LIMITS OF NORMALNormal saline flush IN SIZE......I do not smoke( stopped about 24-25years ago) My mother passed away in 2001 of Lung CA.......Can you please tell me what LINEAR BIBASILAR ATELECTASIS means? Chest xray also stated the lungs are poorly inflated. Thanks
