Several times in the past ten years I continue to have upper and lower respiratory problems--sinusitis, bronchitis, and I have been diagnosed with pnuemonia 3 times. I have been so sick since Saturday 11/17 with muscle aches, fever, tiredness, dry cough turning into productive bloody sputum by last night, that I am so concerned. I am 52 years old, diagnosed with a VSD at birth (non-surgerically corrected) and know that pnuemonia is serious. In the past 3 years it appears that I may even be asthmatic. Using inhalers does help. My family physician just treats the symptoms until the next time. Is there anything I can do to improve my health--going to a specialist and how do I go about that? I live in central North Carolina and work at a large high school which doesn't help the situation. Thanks!
