chronic sinusitis in 2 and 4y/o

My children both have chronic sinusitis, biaxin seems to work but even after being on it for 30 days, it comes back within ~ 5 days.  What are-and how great are-the risks of keeping them on it long term. THey become pretty sick without it and wake up to 10 times a night.  allergy tests all negative X 2 in each child.  On nasonex bid.  Should we risk a sinus "flush" or just keep drugging with antibiotics and OTC's.  Almost no OTC's are needed when antibiotics are working.  one more- I have read that with severe sinus infections they can have personality changes and neurologic symptoms.  Severe behavior changes are what began this 2 year ordeal and has ended thus far with chronic sinusitis-LONG Story.  BLess you for this service and any information would be appreciated.

Chronic sinusitis is a very difficult problem to treat and eliminate. It is essential to determine whether the openings of the sinuses are blocked or not. If they are, the options are focused on ways to open them. This can be with medications (steroids by inhalation or orally) or by surgical means. If the sinuses are open, then decreasing the inflammation at the same time as the infection is treated is essential. The only way to determine this is by having a sinus CT scan. This problem, as you have described, has nothing to do with allergy.

CT's on both children have been performed, no note of blocked passages, just chronic sinusitis in one and "recurrent" sinusitis in the other.  Both have also had the rhinoscopy which showed only rhinitis, no polyps or abnormalities.  Both have had T&A's, ear tubes.  Both on nasal steroids for many months.  Given this situation would long term antibiotics (meaning months) be the best route or should I begin asking about the sinus "flush"?  How significant are the risks for using the biaxin this way and chronically using decongestants and mild antihistamines?  Thank you for your time!

Reguarding the chronic sinusitis
I'm a 52 year old male who has suffered with allergies/sinusis problems for as long as I can remember. At first OTC like dristian worked then later failed to work. Long story short you name it I've probably tried it from the most sure fire antibiotics which are not only very expensive they don't solve the problem.I'm currently taking the natural approach using Quercetin a natural bioflavinoid And Ester C which is a form of vitamin C which is easy on the stomach Try a natural approach see a homeopathic practioner you will be treating your whole body naturally Good health
