Iwas at the doctors yesterday had a c-scan done was told I have sinus infection on top of a maxillary sinus disease can someone explain this plz

Everyone has air cavities in the skull that are called sinuses.  Two of these that are located along the sides of your nose are the maxillary sinuses.  The sinus CT scan indicates that there is some inflammation in one or both of these sinuses.  That is most likely due to a sinus infection or to allergy.  If this is something that has caused relatively new symptoms, most doctors will initially treat this as an infection and give a course of antibiotics.
