cough for last three month???

Hi I went to my doctor again this is the third time I have seen him,I have this cough and wizzing coghing up this green stuff,he had told me it was bronchitis but now seems to think it may be asthma of some kind and put me on another dose of antibiotic just in case. He also had me take a breath test spiramthy I think its called I think I failed that it says MILD RESTRICTION
IS THAT BAD??  IF IT IS COULD IT BE FROM THIS CONGESTION I HAVE?
i SAT iN THE DOCTORS OFFICE FOR TWO HOURS WAITING TURNS OUT IF I DID NOT SAY SOMETHING THEY HAD MISPLACED MY FILE WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN CALLED they were very sorry doctor said never to wait more than twenty minute that i should start complaining.
getting back to my problem do you guys think this reading on this test is bad and how can i make it better,I have gain alot of wait like twenty pounds in  last year could this have somethinf to do with it.thanks for any help.morgan

Mild restriction on a single test when you are having a problem does not mean very much.  It is best to repeat the test after you have been treated and are feeling better.  Antibiotics do not treat asthma.  They are used to treat bacterial infections.  There are several medications that can be used for asthma which can open the airways and improve your breathing.

I live in Texas and seem to have a recurring cough every November which generally lasts until January or beginning of February. I have been tested for allegies and was told that the only thing I was allergic to was russian thistle. This cough makes me weak, cold air on my chest seems to irritate the cough. I do have occasional sneezing.

I also live in Texas and have been coughing up green gunk for over a month now, frequently.  It is longer this year than in the past.  Bad thing just happened. Got a sore area in ribs last week.  On Friday, I coughed and it felt like ribs ripped apart.  Unbearable pain.  I was not on a decongestant/ cough suppressant.  I have no idea how long it will take to heal these ribs.  Am taking steroid now, short term dose, I think.  Helps a lot.  I just wanted to urge you to take something to suppress that cough before you damage your chest cartilage like I did.  I had no idea that might happen.

I too have had a cough for over 3 months now.  I have never had one that has lasted this long.  I am a little more tired than usual and I become out of breath really easy but other than that I feel fine.  I have been on 3 different antibiotics, none of which has helped.  My doctor is getting really worried thinking that it could be something like valley fever or tuberculosis.  I don't think it's TB because my last test was negative and that was after my cough started.  Any suggestions?  I just want this darn cough gone forever!  Thanks!
