none smoker. i don't work with any chemicals or fine dust. any ideas

A person does not need to smoke, work with chemicals or fine dust, to develop diffuse lung disease, with or without x-ray changes. Put the lack of exposure aside. This sounds like some type of diffuse lung disease. You should see a pulmonologist, to try to make a diagnosis, hopefully a treatable one.
