death due to pneumonia

What medication given to treat pneumonia can lead to bleeding lungs, and total organ failure resulting in death within a 3 week period?

The following drugs can cause bleeding lungs:
Amphotericin B, anticoagulants, cocaine, cyclophosphamide, haloperidol, hydralazine mitomycin, nitrofurantoin, penicillamine, propylthiouracil, sulfonamides, urokinase
Of this group, only those in bold print would be used to treat pneumonia.

It is much more likely that the pneumonia (not a drug used to treat it) was the cause of the bleeding and organ failure.  This could be an infectious pneumonia (bacteria or virus) or one of a number of non-infectious pneumonias that are characterized by lung hemorrhage and can lead to multiple organ failure.

You should ask the attending physician what type of pneumonia this was.
