I wonder how brain damaged I am since my O2 was 73%. I take klonopin and O2 and asv.
Hello and hope you are doing well.
Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI) is the number of times per hour of sleep that the blood's oxygen level drops by 3 percent or more from baseline. Normal value is less than 5 desaturations per hour. A value of 17/hr does indicate moderate ODI. Desaturations can occur due sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea. But they could also occur due to lung disorders.
Also, the oxygen saturation should be above 88%, below this a patient may need supplemental oxygen therapy. As chronic hypoxia can cause damage to the vital organs. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
