excessive mucus and salivary

by BJ575, Dec 07, 2008 09:02AM
I  had thick mucus to clog my throat and when I cough I pull up thick, slimy, cloudy phelgm. When this is not happening I spit constantly. The salivary is white and thick. I have taken several  medications and  I use nasal sprays
I cannot attend any social event without taking tissue to clean my mouth. Sometimes I exerience this problem while eating or chewing gum. Everyday and most nights I have excessive mucus. I have visited the doctor. He says its sinitis and post nasal drip. What can I do?

I have the same exact thing. I have no idea what to do with it. I can tell you what my doctor's have told me, and maybe you'll be lucky and have it work for you. I have been told to take mucinex and drink a ton of water with it. Get some steam going in your bathroom and inhale it, and try drinking hot water with lemon, you could also try a nasal saline rinse. I have tried all of this and nothing has worked for me, I just went to bed one night and woke up with it and now it seems to stump the medical world. They can find cures for cancer and diseases, but give them this and they all stand and scratch their heads. If you find out anything please let me know too.

Thank you for your comments, Dakota
I was beginning to wonder if I was alone. I have tried mucinex; the lemon juice and water, but not the combination of all three together. I wonder if it could be my diet? I read one post that suggested that I could be allegeric to diary product and gluten. I have begun to reduce the bread and milk I consume.
I'll let you know the results.bj575
