Hello - Was curious as to what the doctor decided on your breathing test and if indeed is asthma? I've read some of your other postings and can't belive you could have asthma for 10 years and not know it, it must be very mild. Could you let us know how you are?
The result of the methacholine challenge strongly suggests that you have asthma. It says nothing about allergies. Not all asthma is allergic but allergy frequently plays a role. You should speak to your doctor about treatment of asthma.
The yawning is unrelated to the above but suggests that you may not be getting enough sleep or may not be getting enough exercise.
Dear Friend,
I suggest you sit tight and wait until your doctor is able to discuss your test results with you. How quickly your airways are affected by the methacholine is a sign of how "twitchy" your airways are.
You may wish to discuss allergies with your physician and also discuss whether you should be referred to an allergist for consultation and evaluation of possible allergy shots (immunotherpay).
You should also tell your physician about your yawning. Best of luck & let us know what you learn.
Aloha,
Starion
Hi Ashpie - Glad you had the test done though I don't know what any of it means. I think someone on here said their lung function dropped 20% and that meant mild asthma. When do you go back to the doctor for your results? Will you let us know what he says? (Wonder what the yawning was all about?) Hope you are feeling better, sounds as if you may be finally getting close to having an answer soon. Please keep us informed and take care.
