My mom spent 5 weeks in I.C,U. She has been home 2days. Any suggestions or advice would be great. Can she ever be left unattended? My 3 sisters and I all work but my father will be at home with her. He's nervous about being alone. What can we do to calm him?
I can certainly understand why your father is anxious about your mom being alone. How weak is she right now? Does she have difficulty walking around or does she seem unsteady? If she is wobbly, then having someone nearby would be a good idea for safety's sake. I know that whenever I am fresh out of the hospital, I am very weak, my mom doesn't like to leave me alone for long because of that. As to the question can she ever be left unattended. It depends...if she has severe problems, then no. But if she is just weakened and needing strengthening then over time it would be safe enough to leave her alone.
I hope this helps..Sunny
