hyaline membrane disease

My son, who is now 2, was born w/mild hyaline membrane disease which his records say was resolved.  He has had many sicknesses since birth, is there a chance that the hyaline membrane disease could still be causing problems for him?

There is evidence that children born with hyaline membrane disease (HMD) are more prone to respiratory infections for a period of time.  These children also are more prone to have wheezing with or without any infection.
