i have a sore throught and i woke up coughing up green stuff

i had a sore throat yesterday and when i woke up my throught feels swollen a little on the outside and i started coughing up green chunky stuff.. what should i take to clear this up and do i have a cold or something?

What you have may be the common cold but the “green chunky stuff” suggests otherwise; suggests that you may have a bacterial infection, possibly including your sinuses with post-nasal drip or sputum coming from your lungs (bronchitis). This infection may require antibiotic therapy for rapid resolution.
