I am a 65 yr old female diagnosed with a 9mm lung nodule also.  I have been a smoker for 51 years.  I have been told by my doctor that this is not cancer but with my smoking history I should have a cat scan every six months.  This nodule has not grown any since February 2007.  Good luck.  I am now taking Chantix to try to quit smoking - my smoking quit date is June 1.  I too have tried everything to quit from patches to acupuncture and hypnosis without success.

Dear LungLine Nurse,
Thanks for your suggestion.  I have read materials on their website & several MedLine articles & abstracts.  I will try calling them to see if they have more info.
