by secret1, Aug 30, 2008 06:58PM
i have been on prednisolone for 6 weeks and in the past 2 weeks developed very bad moon face.
what is this? why does it happen?
i have been reading some very scary things on the internet and want some advice.
i am being tapered off it 10mg a week, could i be tapered off quicker? i was on low doses for 2 weeks then put on 50 mg for 2 weeks and 40mg for 2 weeks, because of my asthma. i really dont want to be on them anymore?
any advice greatly recieved, i didnt know which section to write on either so any direction on where to look for info greatly recieved too!

I've been on predisone in the past for asthma, but not for as long as you have.  "Moon face" is a well know side effect of long term steriod use.

I think your question might be better suited in a forum related to asthma or respiratory issues, rather than a Weight Loss forum.

Hang in there, and check your email to see where this has been moved.  I'll have Med Help put it in a place where you could get the answers you are looking for.
