mucus

I have the flu since last saturday now i'm bringing up this brownish, thick smelly mucus.What's the cause and how can I get rid of it?

You may or may  not have the "flu" but raising "brownish, thick smelly mucous" is consistent with acute bronchitis and/or pneumonia, likely secondary to bacterial infection.  Minimizing the duration and severity of this illness will probably require antibiotic therapy.  

If your symptoms have not resolved when you receive this message, you should definitely seek medical care.
