nodules on lungs

had lung x-ray december 2008, came back clear. End of February had shortness of breath chest
pain back pain hurts when breathing. Tirewdness, fatigue. Doctor ordered CT scan. Came back several nodules on lungs, sent me to another facility 3 days later for same test , results the same from both places. Said it was cancer, so set up a pet scan 2 days later. test results nodules not large for pet to determine what they are.Now he says probably not cancer but not for sure. Still same problems. Smoker 52 yrs. old, history of ammonia [once a year last 3 years]. He said we can get  needle biopsy or wait to do another pet scan in 3 months.nodule size 3-7 mm.                                                                                                                                                                                I am more worried now.
