non-calicified vs. calicified nodular

What is the difference between non-calicified vs. calicified nodular in terms of determining cancer.  From the little research I have reviewed it appears that both of these classifications could result in cancer or non-cancer.  Also, is a granuloma resulting in tb typically non-calicified or calicified?  Thank you for your response.

A calcified nodule is unlikely to be cancer.  A non-calcified nodule is more likely to be cancer.  It is rare for a calcified nodule to be cancer.  This is thought to occur when a cancer grows around a pre-existing calcified nodule.

Tuberculous (TB) granulomas are typically calcified.  This is generally related to the age of the granuloma.  Older granulomas are more frequently calcified.  There may be necrosis in the center of relatively young TB granulomas.  This will eventually lead to fibrosis or scarring along with calcification.
