oxygen-nose bleeds

My mom is on 6 liters of oxygen 24/7. She has excessive nosebleeds. Is there anything that can help this?

Supplemental oxygen can be very drying to the nose and cause nosebleeds.  Adding a humidifier to the supplemental oxygen will help to moisten the oxygen.  This will help to lessen the drying effect.

Another option is Cann-Ease™ Nasal Moisturizing Gel that can be purchased from US Parmacal Company.  It is a clear odorless water-based topical treatment that will improve dryness and keep it from coming back.  Other topical treatments that can be helpful are aloe vera gel or K-Y® Jelly.
