my husband was recently hospitalized with pneumonia. they found out he has two paralyzed diaphrams. neurological tests showed that both phrenic nerves are damaged. we have been told by specialists at the university hospital that phrenic nerves can repair themselves, but the process is very slow. it could take up to two years for them to heal. at this point he cannot lay down without using bipap and oxygen, and cannot lean back when awake. we figure it will be a long two years and need to focus on the positive. is there anyone out there who has had this problem and have had some success with recoveryRecovery position - series? we'd love to hear about it.
thanks, ron and pat
