please help

hi,

My life has been extremely depressing in the last 1 year . I would be indebted to you for any help

Past Medical History :-

1) suffering from GERD since age 16 with small hiatal hernia taking antiacids for 15-16 years . 2 years ago went to emergency due to pain in chest , rib cage and the pain moving from shoulder blades to arm . All heart related tests came clear turned out to be gerd . I have had very unusual symptoms of gerd including nausea, burning sensation in face , neck and eyes getting red . The food comes out to the throat and after waking up in the morning headaches etc like the acid is coming up , hoarseness etc

2) Itching :- serious itching started when i was 11-12 and lasted for atleast 7-8 years could not let me sleep at night .

3) sebbhoric dermatitus
4) nasal congestion and nasal allergies

smoking history :- I have been a smoker from age 16-31 . I smoked around 2 packs a day
In around march of 2011 , I bought a carton of cigarrettes from a friend of mine who is a liquidator in new jersey . As soon as i smoked the first cigeratte i suddenly lost my breath and couldnt breathe for 2-3 seconds . This was the first time in my life that i experienced shortness of breath .

I was scheduled for a normal visit with my gp who heard me wheezing and referred me to a specialist and ordered a chest x-ray . I had been spitting sputum for a good 6 months and was feeling fatigued and had pain in my hands and feet . I thought this was due to GERD because all the problems that i had before were ainly due to GERD and ignored it . I requested my gp to give me a few antibiotics as i thought i may have an infection due to cold weather . The very next day i met a pulmonologist who scheduled me for a spirometery test .

I continued taking the antibiotics and quit smoking ( 1 week antibiotics) . The symptoms became much better . I had my spirometery after a week. My pulmo called me and seemed very baffled with the results .

1st spirometery :-

fvc                     69%
fev1                   79%
fvc/fev1 ratio     100%
diffusion capacity within normal limits . No obstructive defect but a mild restrictive defect .

The pulmo was very confused and assured me that i had no copd but he thought that i had asthma . During this period i started doing a lot of research on the net . Another thing that i discovered was that asians usually have 8-10% lower fvc and fev1 as compared to causasians and my results were based on causacians so technically my results whould be 8-10% higher . I was very scared of the new disceases that i had discovered i.e restrictive and obstructive and was very depressed

I was not very convinced as i thought that the doctor himself wasnt sure as to what the problem was . He gave me symbicort 80/4.5 and ventolin .

Initially i did not use either of the inhalers but my symptoms started getting worst i would get short of breath just lifting grocery bags and walking a few blocks and felt pain all over my body ( like flu) weakness etc .

My father was travelling overseas and he had a massive heart attack in the plane and was admitted in doha , qatar hospital where he was resuscitated 9 times before he was revived . When i heard the news i panicked and was under tremendous stress . My mother and younger brother flew immediately to qatar to attend to my father . I was in communication every day with my brother , mother and relatives . There came a point when i would get winded just by talking to them on the phone . I was all by myself with my middle brother who was studying in columbia university and had recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder .

I had a second appointment with a pulmo and had severe shortness of breath , the night prior to seeing him . The pulmos secretary did a pft ( this time the pft was not done with a professional equipment like before ) just a normal tube , the lady said inhale as much as you can and exhale as fast as you can ( 3 attempts ) and next to pulmo .

The pulmo said well your pft was 48% and after bronchodilator 72% . He also checked me physcially for 2 minutes and asked about my smoking history and confirmed a diagnosis of copd . I was scared to death . He tried to calm me down . I asked him which form of disease i had and he said emphysema . He seemed to be very confident with his diagnosis . He started telling me that he had been the head of the mount sinai dept and he knew everything etc . He prescribed me 160/4.5 symbicort . I was very disappointed and scared when i went home .

I did continue doing research on the internet and was overly depressed trying to figure out how long i had to live . i was 31 not 51 so it was a shock .

I dint lose hope and took an appointment with a 3rd pulmo . At this stage symptoms got from bad to worst i was coughing 50-60 times a day with thick sputum of all colors green , yellow , brown , red , white like a paste etc . I dint know as to what was going on with me . I started using symbicort 80/4.5 . One thing i noticed was that after taking symbicort breathing became much better but i felt extremely week could not stand up was so fatigued and tired  and was extremely helpless .

I saw the third pulmo and showed him the first report of pft . he thought that i had lung scarring , he gave me a 4 day shot of prednisone . This was very effective and i felt much better for the next 3-4 days . The sputum decreased etc . On my next visit to this third pulmo i told him that my shortness of breath was getting worst , I felt short of breath after eating , I felt short of breath after walking a few blocks . He was now also thinking that copd was very realistic and told me that he would give me spriva after i do another pft .

When i did my third pft . This time the test was very long and had several parts  normal breathing , breathing with a gas etc . I tried on seven different occasions but could not do the main part correctly i.e inhaling as long as i can and exhaling as fast as i could . I told the lady that was doing the test that i am putting my best effort and she was just not convinced and said that she had seen me emptying my lungs for 8 seconds in previous tests and there was no reason as to why i shouldnt be able to do this one for 8 seconds . After several attempts she gave up as i could do it correctly only once according to her and exhaled for 6 seconds only .

The results were sent to my third pulmo in 15 days and there was a note that said poor effort but technically adequate

fvc    86%
fev1 95%

diffusion capacity within normal limits

I tried to explain to the pulmo that i dint do the test properly but he dint listen and said oh see the test says that inspite of the poor effort you did so well . He tried to compare the result to my previous pft (1st) and to my astonishment it was not there in my file and he had lost it wow and he was like it doesnt matter you have nothing wowww i just cant believe how destiny is treating me . I am constantly feeling fatigued , tired by doing nothing with white sputum several times a day accompanied by shortness of breath after eating and after walking and they say its nothing now .... all 3 reports are different . I really dont know what to do i am just clueless . my last blood test showed that i am vitamin d defficeint well below the normal range so i am taking vitamin d3 now 4000 btus per day . I have gained about 20-30 pounds since i quit smoking now i weigh 235 pounds . height is 6 feet age 31 . I would be highly indebted to you if you can advice me as to what i should do and also if its possible for GERD to cause any of these symptoms or could i still have any infections ( pnemunia, tb ) etc my chest xray was clear .

Many have been sick this year including myself with similar symptoms do some research regarding the 'chem trails' they have tested the ground water and soil and found many toxins ..with allergic effects .If you have them in your area and most do, look at the sky and you will see the big trails that are wide and last a long time ..

You may want to ask for a heavy Metal toxicity test see whats going on, it could be environmental toxins .
