possible TB exposure

One of my students is newly arrived from Afghanistan via Pakistan. Due to significant disabilities her hygiene is poor as is her nasal care. She never covers her mouth and leaves dirty tissues around. I just learned that she began TB meds 3 months ago. She started with us on October 3. Is there any risk to me, my student, colleagues or family? What should be done? The school nurse will handle things with the health department, I know, bit I am nervous and want answers sooner. Thank you for your help.

Patient needs to be assessed and educated by the health department as soon as possible. Generally, patients are not considered contagious if they have negative sputum smears after 2 weeks of treatment (smears negative 3 days in a row).
