i have cf and take tobi. it tastes like **** but you will live. its no big deal anyways.
ok, in general if your talking about a kid with cystic fibrosis then when ever the pug identified then it should be treated aggresively as the cure duration before re-colonized with the pug again will be longer. in adults the story is different and is guided by symptoms and lung function.
the presence of pseudomonous is possing a threat to immunosuppresed people from any cause.
Moderate to significant , but how many colonies is that? Another question would be can it be a threat from one person to another if the other person has for example lung cancer or leukemia?
It depends on the type and quality of the specimen. When sputum is tested for pseudomonas, I usually consider moderate to many as significant.
this is quit tricky and difficult to answer, in cystic fibrosis patient, they are chronically infected with pseudomonas, unless it's causing worsening of symptoms no acute intervention required, but increasing colonies needs to be tested for drug resistance. what's the number it varies among cystic fibrosis specialist and what treatment they are recieving (TOBI).
