My mother just received findings from a PET/CT scan. There remains a question as to whether this is lung/lymph node/hilar cancer or a recurrance of TB which she had as a child - she is now 87yrs. old. We will be scheduled with a Pulmonary specialist for a needle biopsy. Is it possible to have both Cancer and a recurrant TB simultaniously? Also, how contagious is this and how much precaution should we be taking till findings are conclusive? I have a 3 yr old granddaughter and a pregnant daughter-in-law. Thank you for your time.
