shortness of breath

After colon resectioning I have been having shortness of breath when exerting myself or bending over , I have been gasping for breath several times after exertion.  Also feel light headed and heavy chest after bending over for any length of time .  My lung volume test was normal, never had oxygen transfer test.  I have high triglycerides and am on prilosec otc, and lowpressor, I exercise on a rebounder for half hour without problem , but bending over or fast movement leaves me gasping for breath.

Three possibilities come to mind:
1) paralysis of one hemi-diaphragm;
2) recurrent pulmonary emboli, which are clots to the lungs; or
3) partial bowel obstruction resulting in air-dilated bowel.
You will need a chest x-ray, possibly chest fluoroscopy and possibly a CT scan of the abdomen.  The "normal lung volume test" does not rule-out any of the 3 possibilities.
