shortness of breath

I've been experiencing chest pains with shortness of breath for the last few years...it comes and goes....but I've now had these symptoms for the past week and its not going away.... I can hear a gurgling sound in my chest sometimes and the pains are usually under my left breast .... could this be an infection in my lungs?
