sinus problems

I have been treated for sinus problems for a few years with antibiotics and Orivine spray, but lately I have developed an increase in fluid dripping at the back of my throat whitch causes me to cough and the thick discharge is coloured green and for the last week I have a piercing pain in a band round my ribs and a stabbing pain in my back. Recently I had an xray on my mouth because I have severe gum problems and you could see that my sinuses were cloudy. Could my symptoms be from my sinuses and is there anything doctors can do without prescribing medication.
