Hi,I start coughing about 15 days ago and after 2 days, one morning I saw blood in my spit....I ignore that but tommorow mornning the same thing I spit blood(10-12 spit)....I went to the emergency becouse I was scared very much......I am not smoker, neither my wife.....They sent me to do x-ray and they didn't saw anything...they give me antibiotics for 7days(amoxicilin)becouse they think that I have some infection.....today is 10th day that I spit blood, and still cough a little....I am very scared about that......BUT   I spit blood ONLY in the morning...during the day I still coughing but no blood...only in the morning...or if I sleep for about 2-3 hours during the day,but straight after sleep.....once I stand up ,after that no blood.....I spit red blood about 10 spits....Could you please tell me what could be....sorry for English it's not perfect!!!!

Your English is fine.

Some causes of blood in spit do not show up on the first x-ray, with or without infection.  You should have a repeat x-ray.  Also, the blood could be coming from your nose or sinuses and draining into your lungs at night.  You may have ruptured some blood vessels with harsh coughing but you and your doctors must not assume that is the cause.  You may have to have a lung specialist look down into your lungs, nose and voice box with an instrument called a bronchoscope.  In fact, you should probably arrange to see a lung specialist soon.

Whatever you do, you should not ignore blood in your spit, if it continues.
