striders

I would like to hear anything you have on striders.   A condition diagnosed in my grandson.  We know there is extra fleshy material in his throat which creates a flag of material that partially covers his vocal chords when he inhales.  It certainly causes distress and difficulty breathing and feeding.

There seems to be little information out there about this and how to treat it and deal with it.   Any suggestions?

This discussion is related to what is stridor?.

Stridor is the sound that comes with croup or obstruction like you describe, it is a harsh wheezy sound with inspiration mostly. My daughter had croup with stridor frequently and it was heart wrenching to watch her sometimes.
Here are some articles that describe stridor and causes/treatment
