sudden shortness of breath

by emjay12, Nov 05, 2009 07:46AM
Went to visit my sister this weekend. Thought I was having a reaction to her two cats. Dizziness and shortness of breath appeared within 12hrs of arriving there. Stayed outside away from the cats as much as possible, and took Benadryl. Within 30 hrs, I was taken to the ER because I couldnt catch a breath. Also had chest tightness. ER doc gave me Sol-u-Medrol, Prednisone, 50mg Benadryl IV and 3 Albuterol breathing tx. I was realeased 7hrs later. Still had dyspnea but it was about 20% better. Came home next day to our house cause symptoms got worse. Admitted to hospital for 23hr stay. 02 sats 100%, Echocardiogram showed slight Tricuspid regurgitation, everything else was normal. They released me last night. Going to Pulomonologist today. I have mixed connective tissue disease, frequent swelling of feet and legs, 3-4+ pitting edema, and fatigue. All of that started a year ago. I have no anxiety or stress. Help?
