I dont have a chronic cough. I had neck surgery and my right vocal chord was paralyzed. I can choke on the slightest little thing and my throat closes up and I cant breathe. It is very scary!!! We called ambulance first couple times and then they said the worst would be I would pass out and it would open up. It petrifies me and anyone around me. I just have to try try try to relax and let it open up. I wet my pants, my eyes get all puffy, etc. So example I pass out , nobody home , I hit my head and there I lay...But I guess there is no cure for it.
The older I get the scarier it gets. Plus when it happens in public its embarrassing . People want to help and there is nothing they can do.
