throat irritation

Please, If someone could read my post below.  I was at the ENT again and he sees nothing.  He looked with mirrors this time and felt around my tonsils with his finger.  He said its probably a lingering infection or irritation.  8 months!!!
Anybody?

If throat cancer were present, then something should have been found on the CT scan or the laryngoscopy done by the ENT.  Please check with your doctor about other possible causes of your ongoing sore throat.  You may want to get another opinion from a different ENT to give you peace of mind.

Postnasal drip is drainage from the nose and sinuses drippings down the back of the throat.  Throat irritation and inflammation from postnasal drip could certainly cause a sore throat to last for 8 months.  A nasal wash helps remove mucus and bacteria from the nose and sinuses.  This can temporarily reduce the postnasal drip and lessen the sore throat.  A prescription nasal steroid spray decreases nasal swelling and mucus production.  This may prevent the postnasal drip and sore throat.  To get the most out of a nasal steroid spray use it after doing a nasal wash.  A nasal steroid spray does not provide immediate relief of symptoms.  It may require several weeks of routine use to become effective.  Please read our Nasal Wash MedFact at http://www.nationaljewish.org/medfacts/nasal.html for more information about this technique.  Share this information with your doctor to see if you would benefit from this daily treatment.

lung line nurse?  I have been back to the ent and he sees nothing to make my throat hurt.  Would throat cancer causing pain be noticable after eight months!  I did have a ct of my neck in october and three scopes through the nose and mirrors in my throat.
Thanks Michelle

I would like to know if I had throat cancer since late June 2002 would I know it by now.  I had a ct scan in mid october 2002 and three scopes down my nose in between september 2002 and january 2003.  I was at the ent in february for my throat irritation.  It went away recently for two weeks, but came back.  My neck hurts on the right side, my upper jaw, my eye feels fuzzy and swollen and that side of my nose feels stuffed up sometimes.  Its driving me crazy.  I don't want to go back tot he ent and waste his time.  Would he have seen throat cancer.  My throat was sore, probably more so when i did see him.  would he have seen it?

Thanks
Michelle
