the problem is i would wake up in the morning with chest congestion stuffy nose. i do have carpets in my bedroom and living room do you suggest me to get tested. for allergies. also when i got my chest xray no signs of emphysema. plus my chest was little congested
What you describe may be residual effects of your past smoking, even though you have presumably been smoke free for six years. That your chest X-ray showed no abnormalities is a good sign but it would probably be a good idea for you to have pulmonary function testing and perhaps even be prescribed inhaled medication to reduce any residual inflammation of your bronchial tubes caused by smoking in the past.
The other possibility, especially given the “feeling that there is something in my throat”, that your symptoms may be secondary to disease of the upper respiratory tract (nose and sinuses) rather than coming from your lungs.
Your decision to quit smoking was very wise. Don’t ever resume smoking.
Good luck
Plus i use to smoke i quitted smoking 6 years ago. plus my eyes would burn too. so any suggestions
