tightening of diaphram

I've had on and off tightness in my upper breathing muscles, in the upper chest almost at my throat, it get really tight at times and makes me feel deprived of a full breath of air.  This happens during any level of activity, even none at all.    I also have had chronic dull pain in my cervical/cranial junction and extreme stiffness/tension/tightness in my forehead and the top of my head.    It seems like various muscles in my cranium and chest are being effected... Also my eyes will nystagmus back and forth when I'm laying down flat or after I cut my eyes left or right.     My neurological exam was normal. So was my brain MRI and c-spine MRI, chest xray, and pulmonary functions testing.

You might work with a neurologist to sort out your symptoms.  To have your question answered by the neurologists at the Cleveland Clinic, please submit it to the Neurology Forum at http://www.MedHelp.org.

Hello, just wondering. Are you on any kind of medication? Benzodiazepines can cause all of your symptoms but if you're not taking anything from this group of drug then it's not part of the problem.
