tussionex question

i have a paitent who has a severe cough  and needs a  3 month supply of  tussionex cause hes going back to iraq for duty whats the largest dose i can write him?  and how should i write it?
Avatar dr f tn
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Tussionex has hydrocodone and chlorpheniramine. For adults and children above 12 yrs the recommended dose is: 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) every 12 hours; should not exceed 10 mL (2 teaspoonfuls) in 24 hours. The measurement should be accurate to prevent overdosage.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
