very dry nose

Three years ago I was prescribed a round of cipro (quinolone antibiotic). I suffered debilitating reactions that are very common for that class of antibiotics, like tendon inflammation, joint pains, neuropathies, insomnia, and others, but one that is still lingering on in full force is dry nose.
I also have dry eye, dry skin, dry ears, dry mouth, all of them caused by cipro, but the one that puts me in permanent danger of infections is dry nose.
My dry nose makes me prone to get sinus infections, but I never had any before, and really interferes with my daily life.
I make frequent saline washes and try to humidify the bedroom at night, but everything I have tried brings only a very transient relief. For instance, the saline wash only provides some 5 minutes feeling of normalcy.
I wondered wether there is a natural, or with little side effects, treatment for this condition.
I have read that many drugs like the quinolones are toxic to the nervous system, specially to the autonomic division, and they interfere with muscarinic receptors that are in charge of nearly all the secretions of the body.
I need some specialized advice on how to deal with this life altering condition.

You should seek advice from a clinical pharmacologist. Many university medical centers have a division of clinical pharmacology. This specialist would first try to determine if all the symptoms you describe are due to your CiproŽ (ciprofloxacin) exposure. Some of this may be due to another, unrelated disease. Then that disease would need to be treated.
