wana kno about ASTHMA

    I got a severe attack of ASTHMA in the month of February of this year n I was taken to hospital where doctors provided me oxygen n a injected me.It was the first attack i wasn't 18 at that time now the doctors have provided me inhalers n I want to kno that whether should I take inhaler everytime when I feel tension in my chest or I should resist coz I hav been told that inhalers n all ASTHMA medicines make u addict to it

There are many types of inhalers used to treat asthma.  Some are called "controllers" which are to be taken every day to prevent attacks.  Some are used to treat attacks of asthma and are used only when you are having problems (tightness in the chest and/or wheezing).  Probably the most important thing for you to do is to speak with your physician about your medications.  Know which ones are to be taken every day and which ones are not.  It is best to have a written plan from your physician that will help you to know what to do when you are well and when you are having problems.
