where do I start

For the past 3 years I've been dealing with a sore throat. It's not just any sore throat. It hurts to swallow my own saliva, I can't sleep, I can't talk, it even hurts to breathe. I'm constatnly clearing my throat and I guess that makes it worse. It is so frustrating. I feel like my life is on hold. It lasts for about 4 weeks and comes back every couple of months. My doctor usually gives my antibiotics. She has also suggested allergy pills, using salt and water, mouth wash and other oral treatments. Over the last few months I've tried a nasal spray which hasn't really helped. I spoke with my doctor today and she suggested all of the following: change toothbrush more often, cut dairy out of my diet, keep a food journal, take allergy pills, rinse with baking soda and salt, and a couple of other things. I don't know which of these to start with. I tried asking her and she told me all of them. I have no suggestions to the cause of this pain.
